Bugbrooke Strollers

Walk With The Strollers

The Strollers are  a leisurely walking group catering for older walkers who wish to enjoy a stroll through the countryside on a weekly basis.

They meet each Thursday at 10am and each walk takes about 2 hours.  About once a month the walk is in the Parish of Bugbrooke but on other occasions a short car journey is taken to surrounding villages with the walk starting and finishing from the agreed parking place. 

There is no fee for joining the group and the age range tends to be over 50's.  On the last Thursday of each month a pub is chosen as the venue for lunch and the walk starts and finishes from that point.

About 20 people usually take part in the walks, although there are some 50 people who have joined the group at their convenience since the group was formed in 1998.

A programme setting out walks for the 2 months in advance is produced 6 times each year.  This is published in the Link and on village notice boards.

The group is open to anyone wishing to enjoy a sociable and leisurely stroll each week.

The Strollers meet on Thursdays at 10.00.am. for a variety of walks (see latest programme below) which last for about two hours and proceed at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for a chat and a breather.

If you would like to join in, please just turn up. Meeting places are shown in the programme.

January 3rd




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Brockhall. Walk to Muscott and return via canal.


 January 10th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Harpole and park near old school. Walk via reservoir, Harpole Covert, and return.



January 17th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Fawsley. Walk via Badby Woods, Badby village, and return.


January 24th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Walk to the Old Crown and on via railway bridge to Stanfords Farm. Proceed along Watling Street to Furnace Lane and return to Bugbrooke via canal.


January 31st




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Ravensthorpe and park at the Chequers Inn. Walk to Coton and reservoir, returning to the pub for lunch.


February 7th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Church Stowe and park near the Church. Walk towards Weedon and join canal. Walk towards Heyford and return via Whitehall and Stowe Hill.


February 14th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am. Drive to Bradden. Take path to Slapton and return via Abthorpe to Bradden.


February 21st




Meet at Elm Tree Bank 10.00.am.Walk via Wheelpits to Pattishall and return via Littliff Farm.


February 28th




Meet at Church Car Park 10.00.am.Drive to Tiffield and park at the George Inn. Walk via Flitton Hills, Gayton Wildes, and return for lunch.
