Friends of St
Michael & All Angels Church Bugbrooke Registered Charity No. 1076850
Objectives and Opportunities The
Church of St. Michael & All Angels celebrated the 750th anniversary
of its foundation in 1970.
The earliest part of the present building dates back to the 13th
century.
The church is built of marlstone, a form of sandstone,
interspersed with ironstone. The
church building is an important responsibility, both historically and
architecturally. It is an outstanding
and beautiful feature of the village, a focal point for the
community, a place of peace and a major asset for the benefit of
residents and visitors alike. Fortunately the physical structure of the building is in good basic condition. However all repairs to such an historic building are very expensive and it is imperative that whenever restorative and maintenance work becomes necessary, it is attended to promptly so as to avoid the risk of the building falling into a serious state of disrepair. “The Friends of St. Michael & All Angels” was formed in 1999 and has subsequently been granted charitable status. Its stated objectives are shown below. Membership of “the friends” is open to any person on payment of an annual subscription of at least £5.00. If you are interested in becoming a “friend” and help to ensure the preservation of this beautiful building for both current and future generations, please contact one of the committee members listed below. Objectives
of The Friends of St. Michael & All Angels “To
assist in the maintenance, repair, restoration, preservation,
improvement, beautification and reconstruction, for the benefit of the
